Cool Budapest - Jewish district and street art

This walk takes you through one of Budapest's coolest neighborhoods. We start at the elegant New York Palace, then dive into the Jewish Quarter, which is both the center of Jewish culture in Budapest and the hub of the city's bustling nightlife.

What we will see on this tour:

Our tour begins in front of the Antanara New York Palace Hotel, where we will briefly learn about the history of Budapest and Hungary. After crossing the grandiose Grand Boulevard, the walk takes a turn from elegant to underground, as our next stop is the bohemian Jewish Quarter. Here we will learn about the culture, history, and traditions of Pest's Jewish community, and we will visit the Erzsébetváros market, its trendy restaurants, and three large, historic synagogues, including the largest in Europe on Dohány Street.

The streets of the quarter are like a huge open-air gallery, full of famous street art works that tell the story of the city's past and present. Of course, we can't leave out Budapest's legendary nightlife spots! During the tour, we'll see one of the city's beloved retro restaurant, its oldest ruin pub, and walk through the bustling Gozsdu Courtyard, one of the centers of Budapest's nightlife.

Our walk ends at the Szimpla ruin pub, from where you can easily reach metro line 2, trams 47 and 49, and several bus lines.
