The GRAND Budapest-walk

A real best-of tour for all those who like to walk a lot and want to see a lot at the same time.

What we will see on this tour:

There's a bit of everything on this tour - a bit of Pest and a bit of Buda. I'm not saying we'll see everything in 4.5 hours, but by the end of the tour you'll know what to explore individually and where to return to see more.

The first half of the tour covers part of the city centre on the Pest side. We meet at Vigadó Square, from where we have a panoramic view of the Danube and both sides. After a brief orientation, we make our first stop at Saint Stephen's Basilica across Vörösmarty and Erzsébet squares. We will then explore the elegant Andrássy Avenue and after a short walk through the Jewish quarter we will arrive at the largest synagogue in Europe.

After the first half of the tour, we will take a short break and have a coffee or a sandwich in a nearby café. Afterwards we will rest our feet for a while and take the public transport to the Buda side - for this I recommend all guests to bring 2 single tickets or a season ticket.

We continue our walk in the Castle District of Buda, where we will explore the emblematic buildings of Holy Trinity Square, Matthias Church, Fishermen's Bastion with a view on Parliament and the Pest side and the picturesque Tóth Árpád Promenade. We then continue to the former government district until we reach the heart of the former royal palace and are rewarded for the long walk with the most beautiful panorama of the city.

Who I recommend this tour for:
For those who want to get a comprehensive overview of Budapest in a little more than the average time. There is a lot of walking, but the route can be covered with average stamina. The route is not barrier-free, so it is not recommended for people with reduced mobility.
